Butterfly World

Butterfly World is home to a large number of species of exotic butterflies and a large variety of colourful birds. It consists of a tropical garden in a 1000 sqm green house and is one of the more unique attractions of the Western Cape Winelands. Inside the flight display house displays depict the life cycle of the butterfly, and if you are lucky, you might see a butterfly emerging from its pupa.
Children are particularly fascinated by the monkeys and the iguanas (see images 1, 5 & 6).

Butterfly World has a craft shop and the Schmetterling Coffee Garden.

Butterfly World located on the Route 44 near Klapmuts, just off the N1 towards Paarl, Exit 47  “Klapmuts / Stellenbosch”. The journey from Hout Bay takes you about 50 minutes.
